John Choma - Speaker Bio

Do you need to influence your group or organization to:

·        Establish or buy-in to an entirely new vision of the future?

·        Persevere through adversity & trials?

·        Maintain consistency and focus in the midst of change, chaos or repeated failures?

·        Take risks and create?

·        Strive for goals that they perceive to be beyond what they believe they are capable or what has been done in the past?

·        Rise above the status quo and choose to lead?

John is a native of Parma, Ohio and attended the University of Virginia.  He played Offensive and Defensive Tackle for the Cavaliers from 1974-1978.  The San Diego Chargers selected him in the fifth round of the College Draft.  During his Professional career, he also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.  As a 49er in 1981, he was a member San Francisco’s first Super Bowl team.  He is best remembered for being asked to play both Offensive and Defensive line positions.  As a Defensive Tackle, John made the first tackle in the famous goal-line-stand of Super Bowl XVI.

Since his retirement from football in 1983, John has lived in Burlingame California, where he has helped coach the Burlingame H.S football team in his spare time.  He has worked in high tech sales and consulting, and is frequently asked to speak at  business meetings, schools, graduations, churches, prisons, and to, professional sports teams (Stanford Football, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A’s, and others) business and civic organizations.   John has been a featured speaker at Fiscal Year Kick-off meetings and Sales Rallies where his address focused on the team nature of today’s Enterprise selling strategies and how to leverage the principles of Human Performance Technology (HPT) to help organizations reach their goals.   John uses his background in professional sports to help audiences understand how they can use their unique talents in combination with sports disciplines like “coaching” and on-the-job skill development “practice” to reach high levels or performance, achievement and reward.
